The weather was a bit kinder to us for Saturday training during February with no need for any cancellations in the month. It was a relatively quiet month, as is normally the case at this time of year, but there were some good turnouts with taster rides, training and a post test rideout at the beginning of the month which was enjoyed by all.
We also welcomed three new members in February and we wish Steve, Damian and James all the very best with their training.
We had a committee meeting in February and, as usual at this time of year, there is a lot going on in the background to get us in good shape for the new riding season. We have an Open Day planned for Saturday April 22nd which will be held at Strawberry Fields as per last year and we are hoping for as much interest as we had last year. There will be the opportunity for taster rides and the chance for potential new members to come along and get an understanding of what we do and how we do it. Keep an eye open for more details and all are welcome to come along for a coffee and a chat.
The social calendar for the coming riding year is near completion and it will be posted in due course on the usual channels. A new event for 2023 calendar is a weekend social based in the Borders. Geoff Hale (ARNY Treasurer) is coordinating this event and there has already been a great deal of interest with rooms booked. This is something we have been thinking about organising for a while so it is great that we now have something in the diary.
Some may have noticed Strawberry Fields Café, our Saturday morning meeting point featured by MCN during the month - is that Advanced Tutor Paul Crane sitting in the corner!?.
The ARNY Annual General Meeting will be held at the Ainsty near York on Tuesday 14th March starting at 7:30. The meeting is open to all paid up ARNY members and it is a good opportunity to get a feeling of what is going on and the plans for 2023. All members should have received some information on email, if you have not received anything please contact marketing@arny.org.uk and the information will be sent. There are some Committee roles that we would like to fill and we are keen to get more involvement in the running of the Club so if this is of interest please feel free to get in touch or come along to the meeting.
As the weather starts to warm up a bit hopefully, there will be more people keen to lead a ride out, or
similar.
Until next time….
