My Story

I have been riding motorcycles for over 15 years in various disciplines and have an interest in a varied selection of motorcycles ,sportsbikes, naked, adventure, trial and even classic machinery which my wife rides pillion on .

I like to tour and wild camp and have done 3 epic tours of the Scottish highlands and islands the most recent being the isle of Harris and Lewis which was adventure bike heaven.

Track days are a passion and I attend various UK circuits with Cadwell park being a particular favourite.  I also compete in trials events over the winter (veterans class) which I find helps keep me bike fit and great for slow speed control. The Isle of man TT is an event I have attended for over 10 years , and I am a regular marshal at the course as a trained IMC marshal, along with the privilege of  working in gasoline alley for one of the race teams.  It is the greatest motorcycle event in the world.

The reason I joined ARNY back in 2019 was to improve my skills and broaden my horizons, and it turned out to be a great choice.  Everyone within the group was very welcoming and once I had started my training I couldn’t get enough and achieved a Gold pass in 2021. Following this I still wanted more and looked at what I could do next and was asked if I would consider becoming a tutor which seemed a natural progression.  I achieved the Tutor qualification in October 2022 and now welcoming the challenge of passing on my knowledge and skills to future motorcyclist wishing to achieve the advanced riding qualification or simply improve their skills.

When I’m not riding bikes , I’m generally in the garage working on or restoring a bike of some description, at least my wife knows where I am and what to buy me when she wins the lottery - a Honda RC213VS I can dream !!
