I started Motorbiking in the mid 1990s as it’s something I’d wanted to do for many years but never seemed to get around to it.  I went away and took my Direct Access over 5 days in Somerset then came back and quickly bought my first bike; a lovely red VFR750 which I’ve still got today.

Over the years I’ve mainly concentrated on touring around the UK and Europe, spending winter months planning and good weather months riding.  However, I plan to go even further afield in the next few years.  Scotland, Wales and the Pyrenees are my favourite places so far, which are just made for biking.

I joined ARNY to feel better about my riding and to meet more like minded people to ride with, both of which I’ve fulfilled.  The group is thoroughly supportive in helping you achieve your goals and improving your riding, whatever your background.  In the winter of 2019/2020 I passed my RoSPA Diploma in Motorcycle Tuition, which further develops and assesses both the theoretical and practical elements of advanced tuition.

My other main hobby is cycling, both on and off road, but I’m also a keen skier and generally enjoy most mountain sports.
