My Story
I was a latecomer to motorcycling when in May 2003 I passed my motorbike test having taken the then Direct Access scheme. My first machine was an Aprilia Caponord which I kept for the next 2 years. Like most folks life took over, the bike was sold and it was only in retirement that I decided to get another in July 2021; this time settling on my current BMW R1200GS TE.

I rode for a few years and once I'd maximised all that I could do myself I began looking for a way to better my skills set: I'd been a Police Class 1 Traffic Officer for 24 1/2 years so Roadcraft was an old friend but realised after getting used to the machine that I was ready for bespoke input in order to progress and to achieve the standard of riding I wished to attain on the bike.

So, in July 2023 when I saw a flyer for ARNY (especially being RoSPA affiliated) I checked out their Facebook page and Website and liking what I read joined on the spot. From October 2023 I progressed through my Associate training and passed with a Gold in September 2024 and was subsequently invited to become a Group Tutor. In February of this year, with other colleagues I commenced the training process and was signed off in early April.

I've always greatly enjoyed working with people, especially helping them achieve in the ways that suits them best and look forward to doing the same within ARNY.
