My journey to ARNY started in 1979 when I bought my first bike, a Kawasaki KL250. Saturday mornings started with rider training (not much changed in those years) this was my first introduction to Road Craft (which I still have). This was run from a local engineering company in Bradford where I completed the Star Rider scheme Bronze and Silver qualifications.
In 2008 my youngest son bought a BMW F650GS, after passing his test persuaded me to go on a Bike Safe event at Thirsk Police Station with him. I realised there was much to learn and went on to join a local IAM group. After passing my IAM test realised that there was still not touched the tip of the iceberg of knowledge. This led me to ARNYs door in 2014, the ROSPA system appealed with its tier system with retesting every three years this encourages me to maintain good riding habits.
A great group of people passionate about bikes and sharing advanced riding skills.
