Look Back at June
So that's the first six months of the year over with and what a six months it's been for ARNY. Membership has grown month on month since January, and June was no different with another new member joining us; welcome to ARNY to Richard Smith.
June proved busy yet again for the tutor team with 16 associates amassing 26 training sessions between them; well done to everyone involved.
Tutor Martin Dougherty took his three yearly retest and was successful in obtaining a Gold pass; well done Martin, great result.
Training Officer Ian Speight represented RoSPA/ARNY at a two day BikeSafe event for Humberside Police, a great initiative to try to get more people to take post test training. There were 10 candidates in all with three RoSPA tutors, four IAM observers and three police officers pairing up with them. The weather was kind and it was a great couple of days.
Adam Abel led his first social ride this month with a trip to Tan Hill via Hartside café and everyone who attended had a thoroughly enjoyable ride. He's set a high standard for his social rides now so will have to devise an even better route for the next one; no pressure!
ARNY tutors have been out and about on their bikes honing their skills. Richard Falls has been to France for some more off-roading, Adam Abel went on short trip to Scotland, Ian Speight and ARNY associate Daren Garraway spent a week in Germany and France (sending European cake production into emergency measures - ed) and Steve Potts a week around the West Coast of Scotland and Highlands.
All in all another great month, here's looking forward to the second half of the year.
