Look back at January
January 2017 sees a great start to the year for ARNY !
Despite freezing temperatures and some horrible road and weather conditions, ARNY still managed 14 training rides during January. These involved 8 different associates and 8 different tutors. Whilst not the ideal conditions for biking, such weather certainly concentrate the mind; well done to all those hardy souls who turned out.
Membership continues to grow with the first new member of the year in Mike Golding and with our growing numbers we are also increasing the tutor team.
All new ARNY tutors have to have passed their RoSPA advanced test at Gold level before they can be considered for tutoring. They then have to pass a series of practical and written assessments and commit to a minimum number of training sessions per year before qualifying as a tutor. John Neaves and Adam Abel are currently going through their tutor training programme and should hopefully qualify in the coming weeks and this will take the current tutor team to 11......no pressure guys!
Current tutors need to maintain their Gold standard to continue as a trainer and Jeff Terry had his triennial retest this month getting the Gold he deserves; well done Jeff.
On the social scene four ARNY members (Richard, Lance, Jeff and Andy) flew off to sunny climates in Spain for 3 days of off road riding and there was one impromptu social ride to Scarborough.
So all in all a very busy month for ARNY and hopefully a good indication of how the year ahead will go.
