Following some riding friendly weather in January, February was somewhat different! Although the weather was above average in terms of temperatures it was also very windy and exceptionally wet with average rainfall ranging from double to four times the seasonal average across the UK. The arrival of Storm Ciara followed closely by Storm Dennis added to the fun with the latter causing training to be cancelled on February 15th.
Whilst it was a relatively quiet month, despite the periods of rain and wind, training continued as usual for the rest of the month. We welcome two new members, Andy and Dave and we wish them all the best for their future training. There were 14 training sessions with 5 Associates throughout the month. There have been some well attended Saturday mornings as many of the Tutors have joined the Associated and taken the opportunity to meet up for a coffee and a chat.
The ARNY Annual General Meeting will be held on March 10th at the Ainsty in York. Whilst the time is quite short now, if there any issues you would like to raise for discussion then please feel free to contact one of the Committee Members or Tutors and it can then be added to the agenda. This meeting is part of the overall governance of the group and any significant decisions, and the Committee membership for the next year, will be communicated out after the meeting.
ARNY will be present at the Triumph TFest 2020 New Season Launch weekend on March 21/22 at A1 Moto in York. We will have a presence throughout the weekend as it is a good opportunity for us to talk to any visitors who may have an interest in Advanced Rider Training. ARNY training will finish at A1 Moto on Saturday 21st and we thank A1 Moto for their hospitality and wish them a successful event.
As always keep an eye out on Facebook, Watsapp and Instagram for news of what is happening at ARNY as we move towards the start of the riding season.
That’s all for now, until next time…..
