June was another very busy month for ARNY with some very busy and well attended training days. The weather was not always what is expected in June, with some very heavy rain at times, but plenty of great opportunities for excellent rides in between.
Throughout the month there were a very impressive 35 training sessions with 15 Associates. Despite the high level of training the additional Tutor numbers have worked well in helping to ensure Tutor and Associate numbers are well balanced. The new Associate Training Logbook is now being rolled out and being well received.
On the 23rd June the “Grand Tour” social ride was very well supported and certainly did not disappoint! Martin Dougherty organised an excellent ride out that everybody thoroughly enjoyed. The highlight was lunch in the Drawing Room at the 14th Century Langley Castle near Hexham. The grounds and the Castle itself were an excellent stopping place on what was a lovely sunny day. Keep an eye on Facebook for impromptu mid-week ride outs and also news from all of the ARNY members holiday adventures.
The amount of training activity and growing ARNY membership is really great to see and we welcomed another three new members in June, David, David and Keith. We are keen to get a better understanding of how people get to hear of the group so that we can continue to attract new members in the future. Any feedback, or ideas, are very welcome.
The next social ride is being created and led by John Neaves. The “East Coast Loop” will take in Hornsea, Flamborough, Scarborough and Malton on Sunday 28th July and is sure to be a great day out. The Strawberry Fields Café have started a Bike Night on Wednesdays which was attended by a few ARNY members, all are welcome to go along.
That’s all for now – until next time…….
