Look Back at May

May was a very busy month at ARNY with lots going on during a month when the weather gave plenty of opportunities for great riding.

As well as conducting 18 training sessions with 8 Associates the Tutors found the time to go for the annual training weekend in Dumfries and Galloway in the middle of the month. A mixture of some group sessions of information sharing, including the roll out of the new Associate Training Logbook, and training rides, made for a highly successful weekend. The majority of the Tutors were able to attend and the recently qualified Tutors found the experience particularly enjoyable and informative.

At the beginning of the month ARNY were present with our banners at the annual TFEST event at A1 Moto in York where people have the chance to get up close and personal with the Triumph range of bikes, with a customised Bobber being particularly popular with visitors. The event was quieter than last year, but it was good for ARNY to be present throughout the day, and A1 Moto’s hospitality was much appreciated.

At the end of the month Simon Wilson hosted an excellent social ride to Wickenby Aerodrome which was really enjoyed by all that attended.

The next social ride, “A Grand Tour” is planned for 23rd June and will be hosted my Martin Dougherty. Keep an eye on Facebook for other impromptu ride outs such as Jeff Terry’s “Wednesday Wobble” for which he was joined for a mid-week ride out to Scarborough.

There are plenty of other posts on Facebook of the various adventures of ARNY members as the riding season gets into full swing.

We continue to try and promote the group and it is great that we have four new joiners in May. We welcome; Bev, Tim, Andrew and Howard and wish them all the best for their training to come.

The website has now been updated and we now have a separate Doodle Poll for Social Rides and Events which is accessible via the Social Rides and Events page of the website. If anybody is interested in a “Post Test” social ride on a Saturday morning they can indicate their planned attendance on the poll for all to see. The other social events, including organised social rides, will also be on the Doodle Poll for all to indicate their intention to attend.

Plenty going at ARNY – until next time…….
