Hello and welcome to a very sunny and warm, if a little late, ‘Look Back’ at June with ARNY [it's been a very busy month for all - Ed].
Like May, June saw another ARNY member taking and passing his test. Mark Kelk took his test on the 10th and obtained a Gold Pass; great achievement Mark, well done.
The weather continued to improve and this was reflected in the number of training rides with 29 sessions conducted involving 16 different members and all the tutor team at some point or another. The 23rd of June was the biggest single turn out for a training day in the history of ARNY….18 people! Fortunately, everyone managed to have their training successfully with the tutors doubling members up and everyone working together.
June saw membership rise again with Mark Ellis, Vadmin Ross and Mark Lister all joining us; welcome to you all.
Last month's joint Taster Day with E-Yard and HERAM got a nice little write up in RoSPAs monthly magazine ‘Care on the Road’ and it seems to have been a great success.
On 9th June, Training Officer Ian Speight represented ARNY/RoSPA at a BikeSafe event organised by Humberside Police. Ian has been involved with BikeSafe for almost 20 years, initially as a Police Motorcyclists and in more recent years as a RoSPA tutor and examiner.
The 10th of June saw ARNY Advanced Tutor Marin ‘Doc’ lead a social ride around the North York Moors, it was very well attended and apparently they all ‘suffered’ continuous sunshine….well done guys.
The 19th June saw ARNY member Nigel Hobson get a full page spread in Motorcycle News. The article was about readers' riding kit, Nigel will be available for autographs at a later date!
Other Tutors were also busy with their own bike trips and tours. ARNY secretary Richard was up in Scotland and Training Officer Ian Speight was buzzing around the Alps.
Another month with lots going on and it’s great to report that ARNY continues to grow.
