Look Back at January

Hello everyone and welcome to a 'Look back' at January 2018 with ARNY.

Unfortunately the weather got the better of us in January with only two Saturdays suitable to train due to low temperatures and forecasts of ice. So only two training sessions completed by two hardy associates; well done Mark K and Andy F.

On a more positive note we have 'signed off' two of the four new tutors undergoing their training, so congratulations go to Paul Crane and Simon Wilson and welcome to the tutor team. I'm sure Derek and Chris will be hot on their heels once the weather picks up.

Also on the tutor front, we have gained another tutor; Ian 'Alf' Garnett. Alf is an Advanced Tutor and Diploma holder and joins us on a temporary basis for the time being.

In other tutor news, dates have been confirmed and hotel rooms secured for May's 2018 Tutor training weekend.

We also have our first new member of 2018; a warm welcome to Alistair Campbell (not the famous one); I look forward to meeting you when the weather improves.

January also saw the first official ARNY Tutor Team photograph take place. Every tutor made 'the shoot' except one who unfortunately missed it due to a bike issue on the way there. Thanks go to Geoff Blackburn for giving up his time to take the pictures (Geoff is a tutor with the West Yorks RoSPA group and also the owner of Geoff Blackburn Photography). The Photoshop team currently have the original print and they're busy trimming bellies in, wrinkles out and extending hair lines.....the slimmer, younger looking team will be revealed next month! [otherwise known as "rolling it in glitter" - Ed]

Well that just about sums up January with ARNY; hopefully February will bring better weather and more training.

Don't forget the AGM on 19th February; we're even throwing in free food. It's at 7.30pm at the Ship in Acaster Malbis and all members are welcome.

[Apologies for the late publication this month; I have been on holiday - Ed]

So until next time, thanks for reading and hopefully see you at the AGM.
