Hello and welcome to Novembers ‘Looking Back'.
Well the wet and cold weather saw a definite change in training numbers for November. With one very, very wet Saturday and another cancelled due to a forecast of severe overnight low temperatures there were only five training sessions in the whole month, although Chairman Steve Potts did ‘discover’ a new end destination at the Ainsty Farm Shop; good work that man!
Despite the weather we did have another test pass to add to our yearly total as Matt Harbottle achieved a Silver grade. Well done Matt; a great result.
You may remember from last month that ARNY announced an increase in Advanced Tutors and Group Tutors. The process has officially started with two out of the four new tutors already undergoing their training. Of the three Tutors hoping to progress to Advanced Tutor, two have already successfully obtained their new qualification. The Advanced Tutor test requires the candidate to display a Gold standard ride, complete a series or scenario’s and achieve a minimum score of 85% in a written test paper.
So congratulations go to Martin Dougherty and Steve Reed for successfully meeting the required standards; well done guys.
On the social side of things, several members organised and enjoyed a rather chilly ride out over the moors. Social Secretary Jeff Terry organised a wine tasting evening, which was well attended and everyone reported having really enjoyed it.
Several members visited Motorcycle Live at the NEC and our Training Officer Ian Speight had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend ‘working’ on the BMW stand.
Finally, just a reminder, that unlike some groups, ARNY do not take a break over winter, so if the weather allows it, we will be at the cafe every Saturday morning for training just as normal.
Well that just about sums up November with ARNY so, until next time, ride safe everyone.
