Well Spring has definitely sprung and April was yet another busy month for ARNY.
For the fourth month in a row we gained more new members, six to be precise, (yes SIX !), that's 14 new members this year and we're only four months in! Welcome to Daren Garraway, Sean Benson, Lee Evans, Geoff Hale, Ian Garbutt and Steve Holderness.
As you can imagine the increased membership meant the tutor team were kept busy with 17 associates having a total of 38 training rides between them involving all 10 tutors.
On the test front, group associate Andy Warburton passed his RoSPA test at the first attempt; well done Andy. This brings us up to 4 test passes so far this year.
In other good news, tutor Andy Esmond's leg is on the mend after last months little off road mishap. He's had his pot removed and he should be riding again soon. Keep smiling Andy and we look forward to seeing back tutoring again soon.
Tutor numbers were further depleted by two of ARNY's tutors working as motorcycle safety marshals on the three days of the Tour de Yorkshire as members of the National Escort Group.
April also saw the 1st of the ARNY 'official' monthly ride outs. Tutor Jeff Terry led a group of eight bikes into and around the Yorkshire Moors and Wolds; much tea and many cakes were consumed and from comments received it seems everyone had an enjoyable day.
The social rides are the last Sunday of the month and all members and their pillions are welcome. Keep a look out on our FB page for details of future rides.
Well that just about rounds things up for April, I wonder what May will have in store for us ?....in the meantime, ride safe everyone.
