Hello everyone. Well we’re five months into 2017 and May finally brought a slightly quieter month for ARNY. That said, we still gained two more new members; Tony Weatherald and Paul Hartley. Welcome to the group and I look forward to meeting you both soon. Training wise, eight members still managed a total of 12 training rides between them and on 14th May tutor Jeff Terry led a group of eight bikes out into The Dales for a sunny Sunday social ride. The route saw them leaving York and taking in ice creams at Brymore Ice Cream Parlour and onto Hawes for lunch. Looking at the pictures and comments on our FaceBook page it seems everyone had a good time. On 22nd May our group secretary and tutor,
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents' patron is HM the Queen and hosted a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in May as part of the centenary celebrations. Four members of ARNY, RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders Group for North Yorkshire, were invited to represent the members and have tea with HRH The Duke of York and HRH Princess Eugenie of York. The weather was spectacular and it was a great opportunity to mix with other RoSPA members and share ideas over tea, some very delicate sandwiches and exceptional Royal cake.
