Advanced Riders North Yorkshire have had five test passes in 2017 already but yesterday's was special. Derek Parkin joined ARNY in November 2016 after passing his motorcycle test in September. Having trained throughout the winter, he achieved a commendable Silver grade in his RoSPA Advanced Motorcycle Test yesterday. Derek has gone from learner to advanced rider in 6 months; a new club record and commendable achievement. ARNY membership is half price for anyone who has passed their DVSA motorcycle test within the last 12 months and, as Derek has shown, it's never too early to start advanced rider training.....and never too late. Joining a new group or club is always daunting at first; what will people be like, what's the training like, what sort of things will I learn, will it be lots of pressure? One of our recently joined members has agreed to share his experiences as he goes through training to help you understand what to expect when you join. His writing is clear, honest and articulate so we've decided to give him his very own area of the website. If you're interested in tracking his progress, visit www.arny.org.uk/what-to-expect. Please bookmark the page so you can keep popping back to see what he's been up to. For more information about Advanced Riders North Yorkshire, go to www.arny.org.uk.

The best way to build that experience quickly is to undertake advanced rider training; benefiting from the billions of miles ridden my millions of riders before them. Advanced Riders North Yorkshire are now subsidising membership for new riders. Anyone joining ARNY within 12 months of getting their motorcycle licence will get membershi
